thwacK

ABSTRACT:

thwacK is an application created with Max/MSP that utilizes the drumset as a controller for interactive electronic music. thwacK utilizes gestural data from the drumset to playback predetermined samples of audio in various ways. thwacK is created to be used in improvisational contexts. This paper details and evaluates the overall design, motivation, and musical implementation of thwacK, as well as situate thwacK in the field of current systems for creating electronic music with drumset-oriented control interfaces.

SuperCollider Project

This is an application I made for the final in my sound design class click the image below to watch an overly tired gradate student attempt to explain it.

SPDSX Chord Builder

This is an application I made in Max to control chords from the drumset when my band didn’t have a guitar player for a few rehearsals. It mainly functions with FM8, but it could be mapped to another synth plug-in.
